Greensky Bluegrass has released a crowdsourced music video for “Do It Alone”. The song from the band’s 2019 album, All For Money, has taken on a new meaning in this age of isolation.

While GSBG isn’t the most video-centric band out there, this new visual accompaniment is meant more to promote the fans themselves rather than the band.

Before launching into the Paul Hoffman-led tune, the video shows the behind-the-scenes communication between crew members. With one person standing at the soundboard saying “show ready at front of house” into a walkie talkie, another man backstage responds with “band is standing by.” With that, viewers are taken to living rooms, backyards, front stoops, and basements around the country where fans gather to do their best impersonations of the band or just letting loose to a crowd-favorite tune. Between dance parties and family sing-alongs, viewers are reminded that one of the things that makes the GSBG community so strong is the fans. Even with a few token appearances by band members, the focus here is on the legion of devoted followers who are sticking it out through these unprecedented times. This is a reminder that they don’t have to “do it alone.”

The band said in the video’s caption,

Thanks to everyone who participated in this project! We truly couldn’t do it alone. It brings us joy when the music unites us. We are so grateful that we all have found each other. We love you and we eagerly await being together again.
