Greensky Bluegrass will perform together from the same location—an actual concert venue, in fact—for a free livestream concert on Wednesday, July 15th at 9 p.m. ET. The stream will air live via the band’s Facebook and YouTube pages as well as on HYFI. Tune in below:

The livestream was announced with a video clip of the band performing in a venue, presumably as a run-through ahead of tomorrow’s performance. As the clip goes on, mandolinist Paul Hoffman steps to the microphone: “Hold up, hold up, hold up. Guys… we’re back! We’re in a venue! Feels good, right?”
He goes on to ask the audience how they feel about it, at which point the camera pans outward to reveal an empty venue (aside from the crow at front of house). “Oh my god, we’re in a venue,” Hoffman continues. “We’re gonna play a show. Tomorrow. 9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. IT’S ALIVE!” Watch the clip below:

UPDATE 7/14/20: The band posted another teaser video on Wednesday ahead of the performance later in the evening. The post also notes that Greensky will donate a portion of their tip jar proceeds to the ACLU.
The news of the free livestream comes just hours after Greensky Bluegrass announced the postponement of their 2020 Red Rocks run from September 18, 19, 20, 2020 to September 17, 18, 19, 2021. As the band noted in a statement along with the announcement of the Red Rocks postponement, “We look forward every year to the privilege of performing on that magical stage and truly hung on as long as we could in an effort to find some way to make it happen. Clearly, that’s not the case. We’re setting our sights for 2021 and are beyond hopeful we can celebrate together with all of you then. Thanks for your understanding and support.”
