Greensky Bluegrass and Yonder Mountain String Band will head south of the border for another Strings & Sol celebration this winter. The 2024 edition of the jamgrass outfits’ annual Mexican getaway is set to return to the Sapphire Resort & Spa in Quintana Roo, Mexico from December 12th–16th.
GSBG and YMSB will each perform three nights at Strings & Sol 2024, with two shows each from Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, Railroad Earth, The Infamous Stringdusters, Leftover Salmon, and Kitchen Dwellers. The event will also feature one performance each from Jon Stickley Trio and Broke Mountain Bluegrass Band, the newly reactivated project launched by Anders Beck (dobro/Greensky Bluegrass), Travis Book (bass/Infamous Stringdusters), Robin Davis (mandolin/The Robin Davis Duo), Jon Stickley (guitar/Jon Stickley Trio), and Andy Thorn (banjo/Leftover Salmon) back in 2003 before they all found fame with their respective projects. The array of artists will perform throughout the resort on the main stage on the beach, the poolside gazebo, and the open-air palapa.
In addition to four nights of music, Strings & Sol guests will have the opportunity to partake in instrument workshops, beachside jam sessions, and theme nights. Off-site excursions from the resort are also available, allowing fans to explore the beauty and culture of the Riviera Maya region from Cancún to Tulum.
Strings & Sol will continue its partnership with Positive Legacy in 2024 by organizing opportunities for visitors to give back to the local community. The 2023 edition of the event hosted a successful day of service where guests and artists helped to build a reef restoration nursery at a local middle school. Last year’s charity auction also raised over $18,000 (besting the 2022 total of $13,000) all of which went to projects in the area that support student success. Stay tuned for future announcements in the coming months regarding Positive Legacy’s planned activities at Strings & Sol.
Returning Strings & Sol guests can reserve their all-inclusive packages beginning March 19th. Remaining rooms will go on sale to the general public on March 20th at 1 p.m. ET on the event website. All-inclusive packages include accommodations, meals, beverages, activities, and shows for all four nights
New in 2024, Strings & Sol guests will have the option to stay at the new Preferred buildings at the updated Sapphire Resort. The new lodging options include a private rooftop pool, restaurants, and other exclusive amenities. Guests can choose between staying onsite at the Sapphire Resort & Spa or the Dreams Resort & Spa. Located less than 0.5 miles down the beach, the all-inclusive resort is accessible from the Sapphire concert area via a short beach walk or complimentary door-to-door shuttle service. Pricing for Strings & Sol packages begins at $2099 per person at Sapphire and $1999 per person at Dreams. The Sapphire includes a number of tiered room upgrades such as beachfront swim-outs and suites overlooking the main stage.
