The legendary Gregg Allman made his first performance tonight since his recent tour date postponement, hitting the grand stage at Red Rocks Amphitheatre as part of his own Laid Back Festival. Allman was on the road when he was diagnosed with pneumonia, as we recently learned, and was forced to put off a number of scheduled shows. Fortunately, he came back with a passion for an acoustic set last night at Red Rocks.
Allman was the headliner of an incredible lineup that featured ZZ Top, Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, Richie Furay Band, Lucie Silvas, Levon, and People’s Blues of Richmond. The Allman Brother not only catered the lineup, but selected the food for the festival as well, creating an all-encompassing “Laid Back” feeling.
Since he’s still recovering, Allman only played a short acoustic set with Scott Sharrard. Watch highlights in the videos below:
