Dr. John has belted the sound of New Orleans for over six decades, and a grouping of amazing artists are coming together to pay tribute to the musical legend. Entitled “The Musical Mojo of Dr. John: A Celebration of Mac & His Music,” the concert will begin just hours after the final acts perform at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, on May 3rd, at the historic Saenger Theatre.

So, just who is coming out to celebrate Dr. John? Well, take a look at this fantastic lineup: Gregg Allman, Tab Benoit, Ryan Bingham, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Chief Monk Boudreaux, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Bill Kreutzmann, Chuck Leavell, Shannon McNally, Zigaboo Modeliste, Sarah Morrow, Cyril Neville, Anders Osborne, George Porter Jr., Mavis Staples, Allen Toussaint, Lucinda Williams, Irma Thomas, Jimmie Vaughan and Widespread Panic.

If your jaw hasn’t dropped yet, then you probably need to see a dentist.

But seriously, this sounds like an incredible night of fun-loving bourbon-soaked music and dancing. And of course, Dr. John himself will be in attendance! If you can’t make the festivities, fear not… according to the press release, the show will be “filmed and recorded for multi-platform distribution.”

Tickets go on sale next Monday, March 10th, at 10 AM central time (9 AM Eastern). They can be purchased through Ticketmaster, or at the venue box office.
