Yesterday afternoon, renowned DJ, producer, and saxophonist GRiZ surprised his fans by dropping the second installment of his mixtape series, Chasing The Golden Hour. The first mixtape in the series, Chasing The Golden Hour Pt. 1, was released back in 2015. At the time, Chasing The Golden Pt. 1 gained a lot of buzz from fans and critics alike, as the mix deviated from the DJ’s usual style. Now, two years later, Chasing The Golden Hour Pt. 2 is free and available to the public and serves as a perfect follow-up to its predecessor.

Featuring ten individual tracks, Chasing The Golden Hour Pt. 2 perfectly captures the vibes of summertime, making it an appropriate end of summer gift to fans. The mix still blends hip-hop, soul, dance, and R&B in GRiZ’s characteristic manner, while simultaneously using minimalist beats and blended instrumental tracks to create a more laid-back feel to the project. Chasing The Golden Hour Pt. 2’s release comes on the heels of GRiZ’s three back-to-back sold-out performances, including two headlining performances at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado. This latest release from GRiZ also comes after the producer launched his own beer line last week—his similarly named Chasing The Golden Hour Ale in collaboration with Great Divide Brewing Company, which is a colette brewed with Colorado peaches.
