Snarky Puppy’s GroundUP Music Festival has announced its daily music schedule, late-night shows, and schedule of artist brunches, cocktail sessions, and workshops for its fourth-annual running this year.

Returning to Miami, FL’s oceanside North Beach Bandshell on February 14th-16th, GroundUP Music Festival will kick off its first day with performances by Snarky Puppy, Michael McDonald Acoustic Quintet featuring Chris Potter, Michael League, Shaun Martin, and Jamison Ross, Hamilton de Holanda Quartet, Flor de Toloache, Sofia Ribeiro, Yissy Garcia & Bandancha, and Banda Magda.

GroundUP’s second day will feature a jam-packed day of performances by Snarky Puppy, Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah, Lila Downs, Alina Engibaryan with Chris Potter, Frost Sextet featuring Alison Wedding, Forq, Camila Meza, and Breastfist.

The third and final day will end with a set of performances by Snarky Puppy, Brian Blade and the Fellowship Band, Lettuce, Cecile McLorin Salvant with Chris Potter, John DaVersa Small Band, Maro, Krantz Carlock Lefebvre, and Becca Stevens.

GroundUP goes beyond the typical festival experience, breaking down the barrier between audience and artist with brunches, masterclasses, and artist workshops. The weekend will feature intimate cocktail hours and brunches with the artists including an unplugged collaboration between female powerhouses Lila Downs and Flor de Toloache on February 14th, a special performance by Cecile McLoren Savant with Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah, Chris Potter and Larnell Lewis on February 15th, and a rare Snarky Puppy acoustic set on February 16th to close out the weekend. Artist workshops include Songwriting Interview with Michael McDonald (The Doobie Brothers), Samba School hosted by MiamiBloco, a Percussion Summit with Adam Deitch (Lettuce), and an A Capella by the Sea Experience with Magda Giannikou, among many others.

GroundUP keeps the beach party going well into the early hours over the weekend with nightly late-night shows from 11 p.m.– 4 a.m. After the festival Bandshell closes, catch the after-hour actions with five different late-night shows at Miami’s Night Owl. Friday’s late-night will see a round of performances featuring a Songwriter Circle with Chris Potter, MARO, Jamison Ross, Alan Hampton, and Magda Giannikou, and regular set-performances by Flor de Toloache, Shaun Martin Go-Go Party, Bob Lanzetti, and Chris Bullock. Saturday night’s late-night shows will feature The Nth Power, Hamilton de Holanda, Frank Locastro, Mark Lettieri, and Yay Yennings Quartet. GroundUP’s last night of music will end with Sunday late-night performances by Lettuce, Larnell Lewis, Breastfist, Alan Hampton, and Shake It Like A Caveman. You do not need to be a GroundUP ticket holder to attend the late-nights, allowing Miami’s locals to get immersed in GroundUP’s diverse music.

One of Miami’s premier music and culture events, GroundUP serves as a massive celebration of global music. With a significant portion of the attendees hailing from overseas, GroundUP Music Festival stands out within today’s cookie-cutter music festival culture. In addition to its intimate daily capacity of 2,000 guests, GUMFest boasts a schedule with no overlapping sets, breathtaking views, and state-of-the-art acoustics in a small, beachside amphitheater. The attendee-oriented event offers fans the opportunity to take in the world-class music lineup while swinging in hammocks, basking in Miami winter weather, and enjoying food and libations from Locavore – Taste of Redland in a family-friendly environment.

Snarky Puppy will play three sets over the weekend, along with a stellar lineup of artists from Colombia, Portugal, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Switzerland, and Greece, making it a true exploration of world music.
