It wasn’t an April Fool’s joke… last night, the members of Guns N’ Roses performed together for the first time since July of 1993. While Axl Rose previously said “not in this lifetime” about a reunion, the band put aside their difference for the first of many performances. The band also announced dates for a major summer tour yesterday, only adding to the magic of the reunion.
The show started with two songs from the group’s famed Appetite for Destruction album, “It’s So Easy” and “Mr. Brownstone,” before breaking out into “Chinese Democracy.” The show also featured some covers, including Wings’ “Live and Let Die,” Andy Williams’ “Speak Softly Love,” The Who’s “The Seeker,” and more.
Of course, they also played hits like “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” “Welcome to the Jungle” and a set-closing “Paradise City.” While no cameras were allowed in the venue, a number of short clips have emerged. Watch below:
