Alternative rockers Guster has announced a 2020 winter tour of performance with an unorthodox structure–an evening of acoustic music, joined by a string section, along with a dose of improvisation comedy.

The band made the announcement on their 2020 winter run on Wednesday, where they shared info on the tour dates but sparse details about the unusual pairing.

“Expect us to dig deep into the Guster catalogue and discover songs we don’t usually play at our big rock shows,” the band said in a Facebook post. “Expect violins and cellos. Maybe some nights we make up an album on stage. There are no rules at the 2020 Guster Acoustic Tour.”

The band will be joined by Connor Ratliff of the Upright Citizens Brigade improv comedy troupe to assist in the facilitation of the band’s far-out comedy concept. In addition to the strings and comedy (as if that wasn’t enough), Guster also hinted at a cavalcade of special guests that will change with each stop on the tour.

Tickets are available starting Thursday, December 4th here.
