Boston-based folk-rock quintet Hayley Jane and the Primates have announced their plans to begin an indefinite hiatus at the end of the summer. Since forming in 2007, the band—comprised of Hayley Jane, Justin Hancock, Josh Carter, Greg Smith, and Ryan Clausen—have become a fan-favorite in the ever-evolving live music scene, thrown down memorable tribute shows, released beloved studio work and so much more.

The band has only five club dates left on their touring schedule before shifting their focus exclusively to festivals. On Thursday, March 21st Hayley Jane and the Primates are set to perform at Killington, VT’s Pickle Barrel, followed by a show on Friday, March 22nd at Saratoga Springs, NY’s Putnam Place. The five-piece will then play a two-night run in April featuring a performance at Allston, MA’s Brighton Music Hall on April 5th, followed by a show at New York City’s The Cutting Room on April 6th. The band will deliver their final club show before their hiatus at Peekskill, NY’s Paramount Theater on May 3rd.

Friends, Fans, and Family

We would like to thank you all for your continued support and understanding during this time of transition. We are thrilled that spring has arrived and festival season is drawing near. Our spring-summer schedule is shaping up to be a busy one and we’ll be playing festivals all over the Northeast. With that in mind, we hope you will be able to make it out to one of these events as we have made the difficult decision to go on an indefinite hiatus at the end of the summer. This band has been a joy for all involved. It has also seen it’s fair share of speed bumps and difficulties as all bands do. We have decided, as a group, that it’s time for us to take a real break and turn our focus to other things in our lives that require more attention. There’s no way to truly express what your love, support, and loyalty have meant to us through the years and we hope that you understand that this has not been an easy decision. We know in our hearts, however, that it is the right one. We want to be clear that there is nothing but love and support within our group and we plan on ending this summer with an unbelievable bang. We hope to see you out there in the next few months to celebrate this extraordinary journey we’ve all been on together! We love you so much! And thank you again.

With so much love,

Hayley Jane and the Primates
