HeadCount and Magic Hat Brewing Company are teaming up to bring us the HeadCount Participation Party, what HeadCount Executive Director Andy Bernstein calls “a celebration of participation and democracy”. This four-city event will take place from November 2nd-5th, and feature headliners Anders Osborne and Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, with surprise guest to be announced.
The tour will make stops in Baltimore (11/2), Philadelphia (11/3), Washington, DC (11/4) and make its final stop in NYC’s Highline Ballroom on Nov. 5th. The shows will be produced by NYC-based promoter CEG Presents & Nolafunk, in association with the Blue Note Entertainment group.
The shows will also celebrate HeadCount’s 3rd election season, in their mission to get young music fans registered to vote and participate in the democratic process. Since its inception, HeadCount has been out at concerts, festivals, and other events getting young people signed up and motivated to participate in what is their right as U.S. citizens. Music has always been a spark plug for political, cultural, and social change, and these shows are one way to get people engaged and primed for what is sure to be a monumental election year.
