Those going to the Grateful Dead ‘Fare Thee Well’ reunion shows in Chicago and Santa Clara will have an opportunity to bring a piece of the magic home. The non-profit organization HeadCount is planning a major charity auction at the events, giving away a customized D’Angelico guitar and Remo drumhead with unique artwork and signatures from all of the members performing in the band.

That includes autographs from Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann, Mickey Hart, Jeff Chimenti, Bruce Hornsby and Trey Anastasio.

The Music Never Stopped: Series of ‘Fare Thee Well’ Pre and Post Parties Announced

Bidding will only be held at the concerts themselves, with no phone or virtual options. The high bidder from Santa Clara and Chicago will go head-to-head, and all proceeds will go to a group of 17 charities that the band members have selected. These 17 charities, forming “Participation Row”, will be featured throughout the Fare Thee Well festivities.

They’re also the beneficiaries of the ongoing eBay ticket auctions. These merchandise items are one-of-a-kind, and whoever winds up winning them will be doing a great service to the charities and to the instruments themselves.
