In an interview with WCSX radio, keyboardist Ian McLagan seems thoroughly optimisting that The Faces will be reuniting in 2015, with Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood, and Kenney Jones all in tow.

The three members, McLagan, Wood, and Jones, have performed together, most notably at the 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, but Stewart was sidelined from that performance with an illness. In fact, rumors of the 2015 reunion began as early as 2013, when Stewart told a different station, WZLX, that “[he] think[s] we have got much more of a chance of getting the Faces back together, in fact Ronnie (Wood)’s office is talking to my people and we’re earmarking 2015.”

This time, McLagan went on the air to discuss Stewart’s interest with the 2015 reunion. His comments: “Rod is apparently keen, and I’m as keen as ever. My door’s always been open to that. It looks like next year will be the charm. I think this time he really means it. I’m smiling. I’m hoping. I hope that’s true. (Stewart) talks very positively, and I’m happy to hear it.”

However, Kenney Jones (drummer) remains cautious: “It would be lovely to do. We’ve been talking about it long enough. Unless you start talking about it a year ahead of something, you’ve got to do something…The Faces never finished on a good note, so it would be nice to finish on a good note. That would be that.”

Meanwhile, the four members of the band remain as active in the music industry as ever. McLagan is working on a solo album, “United States.” Jones is working with former Who band mates Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey (Jones drummed for The Who after Keith Moon’s untimely death in 1978). Rod Stewart is currently in the middle of a residency in Las Vegas. Ronnie Wood, well, he’s off touring Europe with The Rolling Stones.

With such amazing talent, it’s often hard to work out scheduling conflicts, so L4LM certainly isn’t holding our breath. But a show of this proportion would be quite epic, and with all of the musicians as optimistic as ever, we’re looking forward to seeing how this story develops!
