A music festival which was supposed to take place in Jerome, ID on Saturday was canceled after event organizers feared the possibility of raids upon its attendees by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, more commonly known as ICE.

The Colombia Event Center (located in Caldwell, ID) took to its Facebook last week to announce its July 20th event El Tour de Idaho de Los Inquietos would no longer take place. An English translation of the announcement reads, “The Tour of Idaho of Los Inquietos has been CANCELED until New NOTICE, for the security of our RACE – we are with our brothers in JEROME – Refunds [available at] the store [where tickets were purchased], thank you very much.”

According to reports, members of ACLU of Idaho couldn’t confirm whether or not any Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were in southern Idaho and planning a raid, but Hispanic members of the community have been anxious about the possibility of that happening during what is supposed to be a positive event.

“Immigration is doing their work on a daily basis, that is true,” ACLU’s Leo Morales said in a statement. “That’s what they do. It is important for all community members, regardless of their immigration status, to know their rights in regards to law enforcement.”

As of Monday, there has been no plan to reschedule the event via the Colombia Event Center’s Facebook. Watch the entire cancelation announcement below.
