Insomniac CEO Pasquale Rotella has been cleared of embezzlement charges today, in an case that has been going on for nearly two years. The case against Rotella claimed that the CEO used more than $2.5 million in funds collected from the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to bribe city officials. Rotella’s attorney, Gary Jay Kaufman believed that the charges against his client were clearly politically motivated and publicity driven.

Insomniac just released an official statement:

In response to Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge, Kathleen A. Kennedy’s, decisive ruling clearing Los Angeles based event producer and Insomniac CEO, Pasquale Rotella, of four embezzlement charges against him, Rotella’s attorney, Gary Jay Kaufman, has issued the following statement:

“We are extremely pleased with the Court’s ruling this morning. The ruling confirms what we’ve maintained from day one – that Mr. Rotella didn’t steal a penny from the Coliseum – he paid money.

Now almost two years since the beginning of this investigation, two civil judges and one criminal judge have come to this same conclusion.

Today’s ruling is a giant step toward what we expect to be a full and complete exoneration of Mr. Rotella.”
