A baseball bat used by Jack White has recently been inducted into the Baseball Hall Of Fame. The custom-made baseball was used by White during a charity baseball game on March 23rd, which took place outside of the Baseball Hall Of Fame’s home in Cooperstown, New York, ahead of his own concert on May 27th. The bat earned the induction after Jeff Idelson, president of the Hall of Fame and Museum, saw the bat in action and requested that it be inducted.
White, a noted Detroit Tigers fan, co-owns the company that made the bat, Warstic, with Los Angeles Angels second baseman Ian Kinsler—the company seeks to merge “beauty and purpose to the weapons that athletes use to accomplish their goals.”
After the charity game—which saw White’s Warstic Woodmen face off against a local team, the Leatherstocking All Stars—Warstic created 50 limited-edition replicas of White’s bat for charity. Each of the bats was individually numbered, autographed by White, and then auctioned online, with the proceeds totaling $32,000 and benefiting Well For Culture and youth Native American baseball participation.
