It’s been a long fourteen years since Jeff Lynne has given us any new material, but all that is changing. Lynne, who discussed reviving the Electric Light Orchestra name in an interview last year, has confirmed that news with the announcement of a brand new album and release of its first single!
Titled All Alone In The Universe, the album is due out on November 13th via Columbia Records. The band, which will now be called Jeff Lynne’s ELO, has shared the first track from the album through NPR Music. Stream “When I Was A Boy” below:
In a press release, Lynne stated, “Music is such a powerful force in our lives… A good song can make people feel much less alone in this universe. And trying to create one of those songs somehow makes me feel less alone too. My whole life — from being that kid with a dream in Birmingham right until today — proves how much music can do.”
