Are you not familiar with Jeremy Olander yet? Many of your favorite DJs are. The 27 year old Swedish DJ has released tracks on some of dance music’s biggest labels. In 2011, he put out his first EP on Dirty South’s Phazing Records. Next, he became the first producer to sign a multi-record deal on Eric Prydz’s Pryda Friends, and later becoming the first artist other than Prydz himself to release music on Prydz records, eventually performing with the DJ as direct support across the world. Oh, and he has a deeper, more techno influenced alias, Dhillon, with several releases on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode Records.

There’s a reason why these superstars have taken a liking to this young dance music prodigy – he’s one of the brightest stars in the world of progressive house. He’s a somewhat of a melting pot of influences – born to a Swedish father and an Indian mother in America, raised in Sweden, and counts Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Nas, Sasha, and John Digweed all as influences.

Last year, Olander announced a new concept, ‘Low-Fi’, that would see the DJ perform in much smaller, stripped down venues. His appreciation for the warehouse style party, without dancing robots and blasts of confetti, makes him a perfect DJ to welcome to Output – where the booming sound system is the star of the production and DJ’s music becomes the real focus.

You can see Jeremy Olander along with Sevag at Output on July 19. Tickets are available here.
