My Morning Jacket singer/guitarist Jim James will head out with a full band for a run of solo performances throughout the month of May this spring. The announcement of his forthcoming run of solo dates on Tuesday morning follows prior confirmations that James will perform at the Boulder, Colorado’s Bluebird Music Festival on May 25th, followed by appearances at Bonnaroo Music Festival, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, and High Sierra Music Festival later on in the summer.

The run of solo dates will start on May 1st with a gig at the Charleston Music Hall in Charleston, SC, and continues for 14 shows before wrapping on May 23rd with a performance at Chicago’s Riviera Theater. A notable scheduled stop early on in the month-long tour includes a performance at the Joy Theater in New Orleans on May 5th for the closing night of weekend two at this year’s Jazz Fest. Other stops on the spring schedule include shows at Granada Theater in Dallas, TX (5/10); Stubb’s Amphitheater in Austin, TX (5/11); Delmar Hall in St. Louis, MO (5/15); The Fillmore in Philadelphia, PA (5/19); And the Royal Oak Music Theatre in Royal Oak, MI (5/22), just to name a few. James and his backing band will plan on performing songs from his 2018 solo album, Uniform Distortion, in addition to material from his entire solo catalogue. In addition, James and his promoters will donate $1 from every ticket sold to benefit the Young Author’s Greenhouse, a non-profit in James’ hometown of Louisville, Kentucky which works with students from under-resourced communities to grow their imaginations through writing. James will be joined throughout the run by AMO AMO as the tour’s support act.

Tickets for the upcoming run of spring dates will begin general on-sale this Friday, February 1st, at 10 a.m. local time. Fans can also visit here for access to the artist presale, which will begin on Wednesday, January 30th at 10 a.m. local time.
