Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe has just announced a very special guest for their May 1st afterparty at Tipitina’s in New Orleans: Jimmy Herring. The Widespread Panic guitarist will sit in with Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe ft. Roosevelt Collier for a one-night-only, late-late performance, which begins at 2 AM on May 2nd.

Denson has collaborated with Widespread Panic in the past, even as recently as last month when he joined the band during their stint in Las Vegas. Together with Carrot Top on percussion, the group played a cover of the Talking Heads’ “Life During Wartime.”

The band also announced a Run DMC set for the following night, and promises a few more surprises to be announced (or not announced) prior to the Jazz Fest shows. Meanwhile, Denson is gearing up for his role as saxophonist in the upcoming Rolling Stones tour.
