First, John Mayer sat in with Joe Russo’s Almost Dead last Friday in New York. Then Mayer sat in with Bob Weir earlier this week in Los Angeles. And now, to complete the circle, two members of Almost Dead made their way over to Weir’s performance in Upper Darby, PA last night. It seems like the circle is indeed unbroken.

Joe Russo and Tom Hamilton were in attendance at the Tower Theater last night for Weir’s “Campfire Tour” performance, lending their talents for a particularly rousing rendition of Buddy Holly’s “Not Fade Away” to close the show. Russo actually contributed to the studio sessions of Blue Mountain, the recently-released solo album from Weir that he is currently supporting.

Weir’s backing band includes a killer lineup of Steve Kimock, Jon Shaw, Scott Devendorf, Bryce Devendorf, and Josh Kaufman. The crew happily made room for Russo and Hamilton, who helped bring this exciting performance to a close. Watch the crew take on “Not Fade Away” in the video below, courtesy of Tom F on YouTube.

Bob Weir comes to New York on his tour next, playing two nights at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, NY on Friday and Saturday (10/14-15) before heading to the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY. Check out the full setlist from last night’s Weir show below.
