As excitement builds for Joe Russo’s Almost Dead‘s debut performance at the storied Red Rocks Amphitheatre this Saturday, April 9th, the live Dead favorites have announced a new addition to their schedule: two nights at Port Chester, NY’s Capitol Theatre on July 21st and 22nd.
There will be an online Facebook pre-sale for the run tomorrow, April 26th, at noon eastern here. Keep an eye on the band’s Facebook page, where they will post the necessary pre-sale code prior to that time. The general on sale will begin on Friday, April 28th at noon here.
Russo and company are no strangers to the venue, which Jerry Garcia famously indicated as on of his favorite rooms to play in. They closed out 2016 with two nights in the Port Chester room on 12/30 and 12/31.
On 12/30/16 at the Cap, featuring a special guest appearance from Alecia Chakour, the band drilled through Grateful Dead classics along with a rendition of “The Weight” by The Band, and debut a cover of “Hood Doo Voo Doo” by Wilco/Billy Bragg/Woody Guthrie.
