Joe Russo’s Almost Dead has shared a new pro-shot video as part of their semi-regular “RAD Tracks” series. The latest selection comes from the band’s second of two performances at St. Louis, MO’s The Pageant on February 16th, when they closed their second set with a powerful rendition of “Morning Dew” complete with a delicate duo jam by guitarist/vocalist Tom Hamilton and keyboardist Marco Benevento incorporating elements of “Terrapin Station” as a callback to the “Terrapin” suite player earlier in the set.
The “Morning Dew” > “Terrapin/Dew Jam” > “Morning Dew” segment showcases JRAD’s dynamic dexterity in no uncertain terms. While they’re perhaps best known for their high-energy, technically complex musical fireworks, this clip shows off the more delicate side of the fan-favorite Grateful Dead tribute act’s abilities. At their best, “Morning Dew” and “Terrapin” were among the most moving selections from the Dead’s live repertoire, and JRAD’s fusion of the two anthems paid off handsomely in this performance.
