[6/6/22]: Joe Russo’s Almost Dead will wrap up 2022 and ring in 2023 with a two-night New Year’s run at Broomfield, CO’s 1stBank Center on Friday, December 30th and Saturday, December 31st, the band revealed on Monday. The two performances will mark the outfit’s first New Year’s shows since 2016.

The announcement comes on the heels of the beloved Grateful Dead tribute act’s latest trip to Colorado this past weekend. That three-night stint included two shows at Gerald R. Ford Amphitheatre in Vail and one at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, the latter of which featured a surprise sit-in from Marco Benevento‘s young daughter, Ila.

JRAD has an eventful history with 1stBank Center. Back in 2017, JRAD delivered a memorable show in Broomfield—the band’s arena debut—after an unseasonable late-April snowstorm pushed a scheduled gig at Red Rocks indoors. The band responded in kind, offering up a Bob Dylan “Shelter From The Storm” debut to open the show and a lights-on, sing-along rendition of Bruce Springsteen‘s “Born To Run” to close it down. Read our full recap of that show here. The band made its return to 1stBank center—on purpose this time—last December to close out its 2021 touring schedule.
