Organizers for the VetsAid benefit concert have canceled the 2024 edition due to “reasons beyond their control.” Despite the event’s cancelation, VetsAid confirmed it will still distribute $400,000 in grants to the recently announced recipients.
“The wellbeing of our veterans and their families remains my foremost concern and the primary mission of VetsAid,” founder Joe Walsh, whose father was an Air Force pilot who died in a plane crash in Okinawa, said. “While I am disappointed in the cancellation of this year’s event and apologize for any inconvenience to our fans, I am thrilled to share that VetsAid will provide $400,000 in grants to these fine organizations who will focus these funds on the ground in New York and New Jersey to veterans who have sacrificed so much and asked for so little in return.”
The November 11th show at UBS Arena on Long Island, New York, was to feature Eric Church, Toto, Kool & The Gang, and Joe Walsh. Ticketmaster will contact all ticket holders with refund information. This would have marked VetsAid’s first trip back to the East Coast since Walsh founded the event in 2017. With this year’s donations, VetsAid has now distributed just shy of $4 million to various veterans’ causes.
Regardless of the cancelation, five-time Grammy-winner and Kennedy Center Honor recipient Walsh still has plenty to keep him busy. Eagles recently extended their Sphere residency yet again, bringing their total number of shows at the groundbreaking Las Vegas immersive venue to 28 across 14 weekends. The band’s residency is currently due to run through March 15th, 2025. Find tickets and a full list of dates here.
