The John Hartford Memorial Festival celebrates the life and music of fiddle, guitar, and banjo master John Hartford, who pioneered the “newgrass” style of bluegrass and Americana music. He won a number of Grammys over the course of his career, including three for his biggest hit, 1968’s “Gentle On My Mind”. During the last year of his life, Hartford recorded several songs for the soundtrack to the 2000 Coen Brothers film O Brother Where Art Thou?, which picked up a Grammy for Album of the Year. In addition to his musical talents, Hartford was loved for his witty banter and his detailed knowledge of Mississippi River history and folklore.

Three-day passes and single day tickets for the John Hartford Memorial Festival are still on sale via the event’s website. Attendees who are interested in camping at the picturesque Bill Monroe Music Park & Campground must purchase a separate camping pass.
