John Mayer has added new fall dates to his ongoing solo acoustic arena tour. The latest batch of concerts will carry the singer/guitarist across the U.S. throughout October and November, shortly after the completion of Dead & Company‘s The Final Tour.
John Mayer’s new tour dates pick up on October 3rd with his return to Madison Square Garden. The run of 17 new concerts also includes stops in major markets like Boston (10/6), Philadelphia (10/7), Nashville (10/11), Chicago (10/18), Atlanta (10/25), and a trio of Texas shows in Dallas (10/28), Houston (10/30), and Austin (11/1) before wrapping in California with shows in San Francisco (11/7) and Los Angeles (11/10). Many of the cities are repeat customers from Mayer’s ongoing spring run.
“As a dear friend once told me, ‘never block a blessing,'” Mayer wrote on social media. “Something very special is happening out here and I want to keep it going – It’s too good for my soul. Thank you for making it such an incredible run so far…”
Tickets for the newly announced John Mayer fall solo acoustic tour dates go on sale to the public on Friday at 9 a.m. local time. A fan pre-sale begins Wednesday at 9 a.m. local and runs through Thursday at 10 p.m. Sign up for a unique pre-sale code on Mayer’s website.
Currently underway, Mayer’s solitary trek has thus far proved a triumph of vulnerability for the 45-year-old singer-songwriter. Selling out arenas with upwards of 20,000 fans, the guitarist has made performances in cities like NYC and Boston feel intimate and personal with his stripped-down renderings of classic songs. The first night of the tour saw in New Jersey saw the debut of a new song, “Driftin'”, and his shows have since included regular nods to his Dead & Company tenure with a reworked cover of the Grateful Dead‘s “Friend of the Devil”.
John Mayer’s solo acoustic tour continues tonight, Monday, March 27th, with a show in Atlanta featuring support from Joy Oladokun. Tickets and a full list of dates are available here.
