John Mellencamp will open up his songbook of American rock ‘n’ roll classics this summer on the Dancing Words Tour — The Greatest Hits. The 19-city U.S. tour will feature a setlist of Mellencamp’s most beloved songs, some of which he hasn’t played live in many years [get tickets].
The Dancing Words Tour will kick off on July 10th in Grand Rapids, MI and run through August 12th when it wraps at Mountain View, CA’s Shoreline Amphitheatre. Along the way, Mellencamp will visit outdoor sheds in Tinley Park, IL (7/11), Cuyahoga Falls, OH (7/21), Holmdel, NJ (7/25), Alpharetta, GA (8/1), Tampa (8/3), Houston (8/6), Hollywood (8/10), and more. The Indiana native will also host a Hoosier homecoming on July 18th at Noblesville’s Ruoff Music Center.
The John Mellencamp greatest hits tour will feature his most popular songs, including “Pink Houses”, “Jack and Diane”, “Small Town”, “Hurts So Good”, “Authority Song”, and “Key West Intermezzo (I Saw You First)”. Mellencamp will also revisit songs he hasn’t performed live in ten-plus years, like “R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A.”, “I Need A Lover”, “Wild Nights”, “Ain’t Even Done with the Night”, and other gems.
