Jon Batiste is used to playing on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert considering the jovial pianist and singer is the leader of the late-night television show’s house band Stay Human. On Tuesday’s episode, however, Batiste was double-booked as the featured musical guest as well, where he performed his recently-shared solo single, “I Need You”. The song will appear on Batiste’s forthcoming solo album, We Are, due out later this month.
Thanks to some crafty video editing, the pre-recorded performance sees Batiste on quadruple duty, playing all the instruments while also singing on the lively New Orleans-inspired song.
