[1/30/24]: Joni Mitchell has announced her first show in Los Angeles since 2000 will take place at Hollywood Bowl on October 19th, 2024 and feature Brandi Carlile and the Joni Jam.

Mitchell made her triumphant return to the stage at Newport Folk Festival in 2022 and the following year headlined a guest-filled Joni Jam at the Gorge Amphitheatre—her first ticketed show in 20 years—with Annie Lennox, Sarah McLachlan, Marcus Mumford, Wynonna Judd, Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes, Wendy and Lisa of Prince’s Revolution, Lucius, and more. A recording of her surprise comeback was released as a live album, Joni Mitchell at Newport, and was nominated for a Grammy for Best Folk Album.

No guests other than Brandi Carlile have been confirmed for the Hollywood Bowl Joni Jam, but fans can expect a bevy of artists to pay tribute to the nine-time Grammy winner, Rock & Rock Hall of Famer, Kennedy Center Honoree, Gershwin-prize winner, and folk music icon.

Mitchell is also set to perform at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, which will mark her first-ever Grammys performance. She received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2002 and could walk away with her tenth Grammy win this year.

Since suffering a brain aneurysm and nearly dying in 2015, Mitchell spent the past nine years largely away from the public eye. Her long road to recovery forced the now 80-year-old singer-songwriter to relearn how to walk, talk, sing, and play instruments. Once her condition allowed, a steady stream of fans, contemporaries, and admirers came rolling in to visit the recovering songstress. Naturally, these visitations turned into evenings of song and performances, eventually dubbed the “Joni Jams”.

Tickets to see Joni Mitchell and Brandi Carlile at the Hollywood Bowl Joni Jam will be available via an artist presale beginning on Wednesday, January 31st before going on sale to the general public on sale Friday, February 2nd.
