JOSCH, a.k.a. Josh Schwartz, saxophonist for Cool Cool Cool and The Horn Section (and formerly of Turkuaz), is back with “No Beginning, No Conclusion”, the second single from his forthcoming album, Ethereality.

The dreamy electro-pop tune sounds both classic and futuristic, with a smooth mid-tempo groove, catchy horn lines and melodies, contemplative lyrics, and soulful vocals. Schwartz’s own voice is complemented by female vocalist Danke, who elevates the track along with his bandmate from The Horn Section, trumpeter Chris Brouwers, who adds a jazzy flair to the arrangement. Greg Sanderson also blows his horn on the track in harmony with the rest of The Horn Section, who has spent the last two years touring North America with Zac Brown Band and in the band for Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew Remain In Light tour alongside the rest of Cool Cool Cool.

“I’ve always been fascinated by the concepts of time and the nature of reality. It’s so easy to get caught up in our own heads and take ourselves so seriously. Sometimes all you need is a slight consciousness adjustment and a walk outside on a sunny day to remind you how infinitely fascinating the universe is and how malleable our reality is,” said Schwartz. “I knew Danke was just as into these kinds of heady concepts as I was, so I knew I had to have her sing with me on the track. Even though most of the vocals alternate between her and I conversationally, the lyrics themselves are a kind of stream-of-consciousness conversation between myself as subject and myself as observer.”

The song follows his debut single, “Icarus In Motion”, based on the Greek myth of Icarus, who perished by flying too near the Sun with waxen wings. JOSCH released a cinematic music video for the song that premiered exclusively via L4LM last month.
