Karina Rykman will hit the road with her eponymous trio this spring for a run of tour dates through the South, the bassist announced on Wednesday. Alongside guitarist Adam November and drummer Chris Corsico, the Marco Benevento bassist will travel to Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida in May.

The tour begins with a free show at 118 North Under The Tent in Philadelphia, PA (5/14) before heading south to River City Roll in Richmond, VA (5/15); Heist Brewery in Charlotte, NC (5/16); The Grey Eagle Patio in Asheville, NC (5/18); The Blind Tiger in Greensboro, NC (5/19); the previously-announced Resonate festival at Spirit of Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL (5/21); and finally Charleston Pour House in Charleston, SC (5/22). The buoyant bassist has kept far from quiet over quarantine, originally staving off boredom with a series of virtual appearances at online events including Quarantine Comes Alive. In addition to playing private shows at fans’ homes, Rykman recently teamed up with keyboardist John Medeski and drummer John Morgan Kimock for a one-off, all-improv concert. Rykman’s flurry of quarantine activities even caught the attention of a local ABC affiliate.
