Over the last week, Hurricane Harvey has made landfall the United States, making it the first major hurricane to make landfall in the U.S. since Hurricane Wilma in 2005, and left devastation in its wake. Over a five-day period, the catastrophic storm has had a peak accumulation of 51 inches of rain in some areas of Texas, and overall, Harvey thus far has ultimately killed 38 individual and displaced over 30,000 people, prompting 13,000 rescues and flooding hundreds of thousands of homes that folks were forced to abandon. The storm still has not eased up as it continues northward, continuing to submerge cities and wreak havoc. With such an immense natural disaster affecting our country, yesterday, the genre-bending multi-instrumentalist, Keller Williams, had a special announcement for fans.
After noting in a Facebook post that “We’re with Houston,” Williams announced that for the next 48 hours, all of the proceeds of all digital album sales through the official Keller Williams store would go to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. The charity drive runs until midnight (EST) on Friday, September 1st, and you can purchase Keller’s CDs to benefit this worthy cause here.
