In celebration of their 50th anniversary, pioneering English prog-rockers King Crimson will embark on a worldwide Celebration Tour in 2019.
As the band previously noted, King Crimson will not be announcing the world tour as a full list, citing “different promoters in different territories” and festival schedules as the main reasons for lacking cohesion. However, they will make certain that the initial announcements come from the band’s DGMLive website to give fans “at least a week in advance” to sell the Celebration Packages, which includes various levels of exclusive access, seating in the first five rows, “personal insights and answers from one of the eight band members”, and more.
And so, today, King Crimson has added three more shows to the growing world tour. The new dates will take them to Italy in early July of 2019. On July 8th, the prog rockers will perform the Arena di Verona in Verona. On July 10th, they’ll head to Stupinigi Sonic Park in Torino. Then, on July 18th, KC will complete the Italy run with one night at the Arena Santa Giuliana in Purugia.
General tickets for Verona and Torino will go on sale on Friday 14th. Ticket links will be added to the DGMLive website. According to the new announcement, King Crimson will be “gradually adding more Celebration Packages for 2019 to the DGMLive site.” So, continue to check the website for updates.
As of now, King Crimson has only added three shows in the United States, including Los Angeles, CA’s Greek Theatre (9/3); Chicago, IL’s Roosevelt University (9/10); and New York City’s Radio City Music Hall (9/21).
The 2018-2019 iteration of King Crimson features guitarist Robert Fripp as the only original member in the band, along with saxophonist Mel Collins, bassist Tony Levin, drummer Pat Mastelotto, drummer Gavin Harrison, singer Jakko Jakszyk, drummer Bill Rieflin, and drummer Jeremy Stacey.
