On Friday, Montana’s own bluegrass quartet Kitchen Dwellers officially released their new studio album, Muir Maid, which the band completely fan-funded through a Kickstarter campaign.
Produced by The Infamous Stringdusters’ Chris Pandolfi, the new 12-track LP marks the first time all four members of the band—comprised of Shawn Swain (mandolin), Torrin Daniels (banjo), Max Davies (guitar), and Joe Funk (bass)—collaboratively contributed to the songwriting process.
Kitchen Dwellers shared their thoughts on the new album via press release. The band explained,
Muir Maid is the product of spending the last few years on the road honing in our sound. There are tales of adventure, personal growth, and commentary on what it’s like to live life on the road.
Max Davies added,
Chris [Pandolfi] isn’t the kind of guy who steers the ship. He’s the kind of guy who helps guide you to a place you didn’t even know you wanted to go. He has this way of getting you to bear down and dig deeper than you ever realized you could.
