L4LM Presents: Start Making Sense: A Tribute To The Talking Heads, Post-Phish Jones Beach 7/12
Looking to continue the party after Phish gets off the stage at Jones Beach? On Friday, July 12th, Live For Live Music will be hosting an unofficial after-party featuring Start Making Sense, who will be performing a set full of The Talking Heads classic repertoire at Mulcahy’s in Wantagh, NY.
Mulcahy’s is as close as you can get to Jones Beach without actually being in the State Park – it’s less than five minutes from the venue and is directly next to the Wantagh Long Island Rail Road station. That means if you’re taking the train to Jones Beach, the venue is on your way home! And Mulcahy’s is a fantastic venue for music, there’s a large stage with great sightlines, two huge bars, and a late night food menu for all your munchie needs. We’ll also have a variety of vendors posted up inside if you want to get some cool stuff.
If you attended the after-party last year, you know how good Start Making Sense is – they perfectly recreate the sound of the Talking Heads, playing all of your favorites as well as some deeper Talking Heads cuts. These guys are not just another cover band, they have played to huge crowds all along the East Coast, including several major music festivals. We’ll also be adding some more talent to the bill to keep the party going all night, as we have the venue from 11pm-4:30am.
