This fall, from October 23rd to 28th, a number of high-profile artists will embark on a five-night run across the East Coast, with the intention of raising money to benefit migrant and refugee families. Dubbed The Lantern Tour, each stop will feature an “intimate evening of acoustic music.” Per the event’s website,

The Lantern Tour brings together art and advocacy to stand with families seeking safety at the U.S. border and the nightmare that has become their existence.  From separating families to detaining them to making it harder for people to claim asylum, migrant and refugee families – including children – are under attack by the Trump administration. The Women’s Refugee Commission is at the front lines – at the border and in detention centers –  to protect the rights and lives of women and children fleeing danger and crisis. The concerts will feature an evening of acoustic music by legends in the music industry that will allow us all to unite our voices in song and solidarity. Proceeds will go to benefit the Women’s Refugee Commission.

Per a statement from Emmylou Harris, one of the headliners of the tour, “The Women’s Refugee Commission has been on the front lines in advocating for the safety of women and children.” She continued, “Their work is as remarkable as it is critical, especially right now. It is my honor to partner with this incredible organization and to bring my friends along for what I know will be a powerful tour.”

With shows in Nashville, TN; Washington, DC; Collingswood, NJ; Boston, MA; and New York, NY, in addition to Emmylou Harris, the five-night tour will boast performances from Jackson Browne, Graham Nash, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Shawn Colvin, Lila Downs, and Steve Earle. While the Lantern Tour has a tapped a star-studded lineup for its fall run, the event notes that the performers may vary from night to night and city to city.
