On the heels of announcing her highly anticipated forthcoming album A Matter of Time, due out August 22nd, and its lead single “Tough Luck”, released last week, Grammy Award-winning Icelandic-Chinese artist, composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Laufey (pronounced like pronounced like “lay-vay”)  has announced her A Matter of Time Tour featuring stops at major arenas and amphitheaters around North America in September and October of 2025. Suki Waterhouse will serve as support on all dates [get tickets].

Highlights stops on the newly announced Laufey A Matter of Time Tour, presented in partnership with AEG Presents, include concerts at Orlando, FL’s Kia Center (9/15); Atlanta, GA’s State Farm Arena (9/16); a three-show, three-city Texas run (9/18 in Fort Worth, 9/20 in Houston, 9/21 in Austin); a three-gig, three-city California run (9/24 in San Diego, 9/26 in Los Angeles, 9/30 in San Francisco); a performance at Morrison, CO’s famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre (10/8), a night at New York’s storied Madison Square Garden, and more. The tour will finally come to a close in late October with shows at Washington, D.C.’s Capital One Arena (10/23), Philadelphia, PA’s Wells Fargo Center (10/24), and Boston, MA’s TD Garden.

In late July and August, prior to the newly announced arena tour, the 26-year-old Laufey will hit the road for a run of special tour dates at which she will be backed by various orchestras.

Artist pre-sale tickets and VIP Packages will become available to purchase beginning on Tuesday, June 3rd at 10:00 a.m. local venue time. Sign up for pre-sale access here. General on-sale will follow on Friday, June 6th at 10:00 a.m. local time here.

Along with the announcement of her new album and 2025 North American arena tour, Laufey recently launched The Laufey Foundation, a nonprofit whose primary mission is supporting young musicians with the resources they need, especially through youth orchestras, to reach their full potential. $1 of each ticket sold on the A Matter of Time Tour will go towards The Laufey Foundation.

As Laufey explained when A Matter of Time was announced earlier this month, she felt freer than ever while creating the new LP. “Every new album for me is a blank book of stories to write,” she explained in a presss release. That much has been true on her previous releases like 2022′ Everything I Know About Love, filled with coming-of-age tales revolving around leaving home, and  2023’s Grammy-winning Bewitched, which largely concerns itself with themes of young love. Brought to life with sweeping orchestral arrangements, interwoven strains of bossa nova and jazz, and Laufey’s honeyed alto, those albums cemented Laufey as a star who can make sounds from bygone eras feel timeless.

On A Matter of Time, Laufey further crystalizes her singular sound, remaining rooted in her influences while straying down new creative paths without reservation. “I’m constantly thinking about classical and jazz, how to properly preserve them and pay homage,” she explained, “[But for this album] I just wanted to let my heart wander.”

The album, co-produced by her longtime producer Spencer Stewart and decorated hitmaker Aaron Dessner of The National (Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran), explores heavier themes than those found on Laufey’s previous releases. “People expect a pretty façade of girly clothes, fantastical stories, and romantic music,” she explained. “This time, I was interested in seeing how I could draw out the most flawed parts of myself and look at them directly in the mirror.” Pre-order/pre-save A Matter of Time, the new album from Laufey, on the platform of your choice here.
