Lawrence, the NYC-based soul-pop outfit led by the brother and sister duo of Clyde Lawrence and Gracie Lawrence, has shared a new live LP, aptly titled The Live Album (Part 1). The live record, culled from recent concerts in Los Angeles, New York City, and San Francisco prior to the COVID-19 touring shutdown, showcases every aspect of the enchanting chemistry of a Lawrence live show, from the skilled, airtight musicianship of the band to the buttery-smooth dual lead vocals and familial banter between Gracie and Clyde.

In addition to a number of tried-and-true live staples from the band’s original catalog, the album includes a moving reimagining of Doris Day classic “Que Sera, Sera”. The Live Album (Part 1) also closes with a performance of a brand new, previously-unreleased song as performed in Los Angeles—complete with audience participation and Gracie anecdotes centered around the song’s themes of self-love and overcoming insecurities.

The first-ever official release of the new song, “Freckles”, has quickly reached a massive online audience. In the few days since the release of the song and live album, a short clip of the live “Freckles” performance has generated 3 million listens and counting on TikTok. As Clyde Lawrence joked to Live For Live Music about the runaway TikTok success, “I guess people miss live music.”
