Today, future funk collective Lettuce have announced their Fall 2018 Wavelength Tour. The headlining trek will kick off on September 20 in Berkeley, California and bring their soulful groove and sonic hijinks to major cities across the country, culminating with their Colorado Symphony in Denver on November 10.
Over the weekend, the band headlined their third annual Rage Rocks at the historic Red Rocks Amphitheatre with co-headliners The Floozies. This summer, the funk powerhouse recently announced some big summer performance plans set to take place in a small room: New York City’s Blue Note Jazz Club, the West Village room where countless legendary musicians have taken the stage since its opening in 1981. Lettuce will play 12 sets over the course of five nights at the Blue Note this summer, from Wednesday, June 27th through Sunday, July 1st, allowing them to flex their diverse range of psychedelic sonics, blissful grooves, jazz rhythms and hip-hop inspired beats. The band will also be appearing at a slew of summer festivals, including High Sierra Music Festival, LOCKN’, and more.
Following the tour, Lettuce will play a special one-night-only show with the Colorado Symphony at the Boettcher Hall in the Denver Performing Arts Complex on November 10.
“For more than two decades, Lettuce have brought a new vitality to classic funk, matching their smooth and soulful grooves with a hip-hop-inspired urgency,” the symphony said in a statement. “Their latest offerings showcase the exceptional musicianship and improvisational, rhythmic genius that fans have come to expect with orchestrations created especially for this world-premiere event by Tom Hagerman. For their Colorado Symphony debut, the band will bring forth their greatest creative endeavor to-date to funk the house down.”
