Eclectic funk sextet Lettuce has announced the first batch of dates on the band’s 2024 tour schedule. The group has also released VIBE, a single-track, all-improvised album previously only available on vinyl, on all major streaming platforms.

Following an appearance at the Grateful Dead-focused Dead Ahead Festival in Mexico in January, where the group will honor the music of the Jerry Garcia Band, Lettuce will return to the States to kick off the month of February with a performance at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas on Thursday, February 1st. After playing Gem & Jam Festival that weekend, the band will hit the road for shows at Crystal Bay, NV’s Crystal Bay Club Casino Crown Room (2/2), Los Angeles, CA’s The Novo (2/3), and Santa Fe, NM’s Meow Wolf (2/7).

The 2024 Lettuce Vibe tour will continue with shows in Fort Collins, CO (2/8), La Vista, NE (2/9), Lawrence, KS (2/10), Fayetteville, AR (2/13), Oklahoma City, OK (2/14), Dallas, TX (2/15), Austin, TX (2/16), Houston, TX (2/17), Winston-Salem, NC (2/20), Roanoke, VA (2/21), Columbia, SC (2/22), Orlando, FL (2/23), and St. Petersburg, FL (2/24) before the group—comprised of drummer Adam Deitch, guitarist Adam “Shmeeans” Smirnoff, bassist Erick “Jesus” Coomes, saxophonist Ryan Zoidis, trumpeter Eric “Benny” Bloom, and keyboardist/vocalist Nigel Hall—hops on Jam Cruise 20 beginning on February 25th. The shows in Winston-Salem, Roanoke, and Orlando will feature support from Afro-Cuban funk sensation Cimafunk.

The band followed the announcement of the 2024 tour dates with the first-ever digital release of VIBE, a 48-minute improvised album released exclusively on vinyl back in 2020. As Zoidis explained of VIBE, “This recording happened during the sessions for Resonate. We had just finished tracking what we had planned on. We got into a vibe and we hit record. 48 minutes went by like a blink of an eye. This is our first purely improvised recording. Nothing planned, nothing edited or overdubbed. This is a true spontaneous musical expression captured in its entirety.” Stream VIBE by Lettuce on the platform of your choice here or listen via the Spotify player below.
