John Mayer has announced a new SiriusXM channel, Life With John Mayer, that is set to launch in November and will feature music curated by the singer-songwriter and Dead & Company guitarist as well as his “thoughts and insights, and lots of other surprises to come.”

“It’s a real-time channel curated to match the time of day, playing the music you’re most likely to be in the mood for,” Mayer explained in an announcement posted to social media.

Driving to work in the morning? I’ll be playing high energy “let’s make today great'” music. Studying or unwinding on a weeknight? Tune in to hear music to focus and relax to. Headed out on a Friday night? Got you. Sunday morning breakfast? Ditto. Saturday night Dinner parties, and late night love on the weekend? You’ll hear the right music for the moment. There’s even going to be programming designed to help you fall asleep in the wee hours of the morning.

News of the John Mayer station comes after years of talks about potential Mayer-hosted programs. He has had his own show, Current Mood, on Instagram Live on and off since 2018 and was reportedly in talks with CBS streaming outlet Paramount+ to develop a performance and interview show modeled after BBC‘s Later… with Jools Holland in 2021. That show, which was reportedly to be called “Later With John Mayer,” never materialized, and it wasn’t the first deal with CBS to stall. The network previously pushed to develop a talk show series with the musician in 2009.
