Lil Wayne, the five-time Grammy Award-winning rap icon, has announced Tha Carter VI tour, a lengthy trek set to hit amphitheaters and arenas around the U.S. in the second half of 2025 [get tickets]. The tour will both celebrate Wayne’s latest album (Tha Carter VI, due to arrive on Friday, June 6th) and honor 20 years of his acclaimed Tha Carter album series [pre-order/pre-save album].
After getting a head start on his Tha Carter VI campaign with a release-day blowout this Friday, June 6th at New York, NY’s storied Madison Square Garden, the rapper sometimes known as Weezy F. Baby will hit the road on Wednesday, July 30th in Bristow, VA and make his way around the U.S. throughout August and September. The Live Nation-produced tour, set to feature special guests Tyga and Belly Gang Kushington across all dates and NoCap on select dates, will eventually wrap in West Palm Beach, FL on October 2nd.
Lil Wayne has had a fraught relationship with live performances in recent years. While he has announced intermittent tours and festival appearances, he has often canceled dates at the last minute for undisclosed reasons. He was widely reported to have been “hurt” that he was not offered the opportunity to headline the Super Bowl LIX halftime show in his native New Orleans. That honor went to Kendrick Lamar, who later referenced Wayne’s reaction on his 2024 track “wacced out murals” (“Used to bump Tha Carter III, I held my Rollie chain proud / Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down.”) While he did not wind up appearing at the Super Bowl in New Orleans, Lil Wayne did use the event—specifically, an appearance in an amusingly self-aware Cetaphil ad—to announce the upcoming release of Tha Carter VI).

Last month, Weezy linked up with The Roots for a well-received hometown appearance headlining New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and reconnected with Hot Boys (his late-’90s crew with Juvenile, Turk, and B.G.) and Big Tymers (featuring Mannie Fresh and Birdman) for a special set at J. Cole‘s final Dreamville Festival.
