The remaining members of Fleetwood Mac are set to continue their scheduled run of 2019 performances as part of their “An Evening With Fleetwood Mac World Tour” later this month. The tour, which initially began back in early October, has been accompanied by its fair share of inner-band drama due to the recent firing of longtime guitarist, singer, and principal songwriter, Lindsey Buckingham. The guitarist was initially replaced by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers‘ guitarist Mike Campbell, and has continued without any real hitches so far.

Buckingham has not been shy about sharing his point of view on why he’s no longer a member of the popular classic rock band, as he admitted they reached an ultimatum between going forward with either him or his former lover/bandmate, Stevie Nicks. After Fleetwood Mac decided to go their own way without him, Buckingham announced his own batch of 2018 solo tour dates, which started last fall and continued into early December. In typical Fleetwood fashion, more drama continues to come out from behind the scenes, again courtesy of Buckingham, who admitted late last week that he’s been in touch with at least one of his former bandmates since being fired.

“Yes, I did hear from Christine [McVie] not long after we reached a settlement. (She’s the only one I’ve heard from). Christine said she missed me very much, that FM wasn’t complete without me,” Buckingham admitted via his Twitter in a brief Q&A session on Thursday when asked if he’d had any contact with the band’s pianist/singer. “Said she felt that Stevie [Nicks] was very likely regretting having given the rest of the band the ultimatum that forced my departure. Perhaps wishful thinking on Christine’s part. In any case, it was great to hear from her, and I do hope we work together again down the line.”

The reference at the end of his answer would be his collaborative duet album alongside McVie released back in June 2017, which was simply titled, Lindsey Buckingham Christine McVie.

The Fleetwood Mac tour is scheduled to pick up again on January 31st with a performance at Denver’s Pepsi Center. Fans can click here for tickets to the shows on the 2019 leg of their ongoing world tour.
