Earth, Wind & Fire is currently led by founding bassist Verdine White, alongside longtime vocalists and percussionists Philip Bailey and Ralph Johnson (both members since 1972), B. David Whitworth (since 1996), keyboardist Myron McKinley and drummer John Paris (both since 2001), lead guitarist Morris O’Connor (since 2008), vocalist Philip Doron Bailey (since 2009), and rhythm guitarist Serg Dimitrijevic (since 2012). These artists are continuing the legacy first launched by Maurice White (passed away in 2016) more than five decades ago. Lionel Richie remains one of the best-selling artists of all time, with more than 125 million records sold worldwide and an enduring presence across film, television, and live performance.

They still have plenty of music to make in the months ahead, as Earth, Wind & Fire will remain on the road this spring with headline dates and festival appearances across Mexico, the U.S., and Australia, including New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Atlanta’s AWARE Fest, and Australia’s Bluesfest, before joining Richie for the summer North American run [get tickets].

In other Earth, Wind & Fire news, Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, the Academy Award-winning documentarian and drummer for The Roots, announced in September of 2024 that he will helm a new film about the beloved R&B/soul/funk pioneers. The film was initially slated for release in 2025 but has since been rescheduled for a 2026 premiere on HBO.
