Update: As a point of clarification, Victor Wooten has made it clear that he will not be a permanent member of Octavision, but was just hired for this single composition. Read his statement below.

Although I enjoyed playing on this song, please know that Octavision is not my band. Octavision is not a band at all. We were all hired by Hovak Alaverdyan (the guitarist and composer) to play on one song. I love the song; I love the writing; and I loved the challenge of playing on it, but I don’t want to be misrepresented only to help promote it. I love Hovak Alaverdyan and his family. We are longtime friends. He’s an amazing guitarist, and I’m sure the rest of his music (once completed) will be just as amazing. But I don’t know who the other musicians will be.

I’ll be busy recording, touring, and promoting my next project which will be a trio featuring Dennis Chambers on drums and Bob Franceschini on Sax. We’ll be touring in Europe this November starting in Milan on November 1 & 2. We’ll release the record and tour throughout the U.S. in 2017. Check out www.victorwooten.com for tour dates and more.

Peace, Vic

Renowned bassist Victor Wooten has worn many hats in his day, but the newest is one that no one was expecting. Wooten is now a member of a new band called Octavision, who bills themselves as progressive metal/rock, and it looks like he’s there to stay. Considering the band has made multiple mentions of future tracks, albums, and more, the band’s new song is only the beginning!

Octavision released “Three Lives” last night, complete with a full video of the band members recording in the studio. The technique demonstrated by each musician is remarkable, and it’s no surprise that Wooten was asked to join this band. These guys are the real deal.

Whether or not you like metal music, you should be sure to tune in and catch Octavision’s debut track, “Three Lives.” Watch it below.
