The 2016 installment of “Fall Ball” has come to a close, after three nights of Joe Russo’s Almost Dead madness. The weekend saw the debut of an acoustic “Terrapin Suite” in the bowling lanes, special guest appearances from John Mayer, Chris Harford, and plenty of song debuts, as Joe Russo, Marco Benevento, Tom Hamilton, Dave Dreiwitz, and Scott Metzger once again showed their hometown crowd exactly why they are such a revered live band. Returning to their birthplace always brings a sense of comfortability for the Grateful Dead enthusiasts, but also an opportunity to expand on their already-adored interpretations.
