Masters of improvisation, Phish has been taking their songs in new and exciting directions for decades. Often the band will find certain ambient moments, where a transcendental jam session will lead into loose and unstructured tones.
Fortunately for fans, one fan (named Curt Lyon on YouTube) stitched together nearly 20 different ambient jam sessions between the years of 1994-2015 for one dreamy playlist. Titled Clouds: An Ambient Phish Mix, the compilation starts with footage from the “Drive In Jam” at Magnaball Festival and continues through various ambient segments throughout the years.
Listen in below:
Lyon writes: A (mostly) ambient ebb and flow of Phish jams. It attempts to encompass the range of ambience that Phish covers, which includes peaks out of nothingness, upbeat space rock, and some dark industrial revving, so this is not one that puts you to sleep. Enjoy!
