Beloved jam group Assembly Of Dust have returned with a glorious release titled Tales From The Oregon Trail, capturing the group’s live set from a recent show in Portland, OR. Powered by Reid Genauer’s strong sense of songwriting and craftsmanship, the band continues to impress in the live setting with each musical occasion.
It’s no surprise that concert promoter Peter Shapiro has nothing but love for the folk group. “Reid writes songs that you want to hear and that you want your children to hear. We would all be better off if the next generation of music fans can share some of that feeling,” says Shapiro.
Tales From The Oregon Trail takes the listener deep inside the band’s dynamic sound, and the result is astounding. You can listen to the full album, streaming below:
Genauer spoke to use about the band as it stands today, nearly 15 years after their formation. “The more we play as a band and frankly the more we approach the performance as a band vs. a group of individuals playing the same song, the more in tune we are with the dynamic of the night which includes the interaction with the room and the audience but also the natural pull of the song on that given night. The way it wants to be played. We have really gelled to the point where we know when we surrender to the moment and when we need to to be a little more intentionally in command of the music and the stage. Tapping into that non spoken intuition is exciting and endless.”
