A number of Grateful Dead scene all-stars converged on the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, PA last night, performing a top-notch show as the Golden Gate Wingmen. The group is comprised of frequent collaborators in the Dead scene, including bassist Reed Mathis (Billy & The Kids), keyboardist Jeff Chimenti (Furthur/Dead & Company), drummer Jay Lane (RatDog), and guitarist John Kadlecik (Furthur).
The Grateful foursome dove into the Dead’s catalog, opening with “Sugaree” and rocking through a number of tunes that are instantly recognizable from GD and JGB setlists. The show even featured Kadlecik singing “Ripple” in French, an interpretation that he debuted in the wake of the Paris terrorist attacks several months ago.
Thanks to taper Keith Litzenberger, we have full audio from the show. Tune in below!
